Collages and an altar
Beki, the sacred-secret “”gay speak”” across the archipelagic diaspora of the Philippines, is explored through visual text, collage, portraits, catholic propaganda chain messages, vintage jewerly and (gay) porn magazines. In honoring my own contexts and embodiments, I expand and disrupt on the shape and form of Beki. This work contains the hunger, grief, longing, displacement of self, and discreetness of language.
